
Monsters and boas and anoles, oh my! A wide variety of lizards, snakes, and turtles creep and crawl through exhibits at the Bronx, Central Park, Prospect Park and Queens Zoos.

It takes a lot of stamina for the zookeepers to keep up with the task of feeding eight hungry penguin chicks—especially when you factor in the job of cutting up all those herring into bite-sized pieces!

Turns out raising a penguin chick is a lot like raising a human baby. In the beginning, the chicks spend all their time eating, sleeping, and pooping. Meanwhile, the keepers slave over them to keep them happy.

New faces, new places: A deer fawn, a duck, and a porcupine named Sam are just some of the most recent arrivals to the Central Park and Prospect Park Zoos.

Four banded mongoose pups and their parents have moved into the Tropic Zone. These petite African carnivores get their name from the black stripes across their backs.
